Neil's Harbour
Neil's Harbour is the kind of village that inspires fridge magnets — a working fishing harbour, a white lighthouse on a rocky headland, lobster traps stacked on the wharf, and the Chowder House serving its namesake at picnic tables overlooking the Atlantic.
It sits just off the Cabot Trail between Ingonish and Cape North and makes an obvious lunch stop. The road through the village (the "Coastal Loop") detours from the main Cabot Trail route and is well worth the few extra kilometres.
