Myles Doyle Falls — waterfall in Inverness & Western Shore, Cape Breton

Myles Doyle Falls

Quieter Highlands waterfall — short hike through hardwood forest to a ledge-cascade, best in spring or after summer rain.

Myles Doyle Falls is a quieter waterfall in the Cape Breton Highlands — less-trafficked than the well-known Mary Ann Falls or North River Falls, and a worthwhile detour if you're hiking the area. The cascade drops over a series of ledges through hardwood forest, and the trail in is short but unmarked in places, so navigation requires attention. Best in spring and after summer rain; the falls thin noticeably by late August. Wear sturdy footwear — the approach involves some rock-scrambling near the base. No facilities; bring water and pack out what you bring in.
