Fr. Moses Coady and the Sisters of St. Martha go to the Keppoch — event in Cape Breton

Fr. Moses Coady and the Sisters of St. Martha go to the Keppoch

Tuesday, July 7, 2026 · 7:00 p.m. · Strathspey Performing Arts Centre

The Ships of 1801 presents a theatrical concert blending original and traditional music with dialogue about Fr. Moses Coady and the Sisters of St. Martha.

The Ships of 1801 Society is a Nova Scotia theatrical concert group that blends original music, traditional Gaelic song, storytelling, and costumed performance to celebrate early Scottish settlement in the region. The society has produced multiple original theatrical concerts commemorating early Scottish settlement in Nova Scotia and the impact of the Gaelic language and culture through the generations. Each show is roughly half music and half dialogue — not a conventional musical, but closer to a ceilidh with a story running through it.
