Donair: The Musical
A 1970s musical about the invention of the donair in Sydney, Nova Scotia, featuring original songs and exploring family, business, and love.
This musical is set in the 1970s at Sydney's first donair shop and follows family dynamics, business ambitions, and romance through ten original songs by Duncan Wells and a story by playwright Paul MacDougall. Rather than strict history, it's a tribute to the donair's Nova Scotia roots and small family businesses. Directed by Carol Anne Gillis with musical direction by Adam Young.
