Marble Mountain Beach

Swim and explore the unique marble sand beach on Bras d'Or Lake's western shore, created by historic quarrying operations since 1869.

attraction

A beach on the western shore of the Bras d'Or Lake built from crushed marble that washed into the water during quarrying operations that began in 1869. The marble gives the water its clear appearance and soft sand. You can swim, walk along the shoreline below the old quarry walls, or launch a boat from the community wharf.
