The J. Franklin Wright Art Gallery at the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre was officially inaugurated in 2006. It is named after our resident internationally acclaimed marine artist. The Gallery is regarded as a cultural space for the purpose of displaying artwork. The mission of the J. Franklin Wright Art Gallery is to be an energetic, outgoing and accessible art gallery in the Strait Area and to strive to inspire, interest and provide enjoyment for our audiences. The Gallery aims to: Present, promote and collect the finest works of art available, with emphasis on the artistic traditions of our communities. Educate and broaden understanding of the visual arts. Create a sense of belonging and provide visitors with an enjoyable and enduring experience.
