Time Travel - Kids Day at Isle Madame Historical Society
Time Travel – Kids Day at the Isle Madame Historical Society is a children's-focused heritage day held at the LeNoir Landing site in Arichat, on the southern tip of Cape Breton's Isle Madame. The Isle Madame Historical Society is the umbrella organization that manages the LeNoir Landing site, which includes the LeNoir Forge Museum and the Isle Madame Community Archives, as well as other visitor services. The event is part of the Society's ongoing commitment to targeting different age groups and establishing programming that is welcoming, enjoyable, and educational. The "Time Travel" name reflects the site's distinctive layout and the living-history programming style the Society regularly delivers during the summer season. The site is made up of a Genealogy Centre, Community Archives, the LeNoir Forge Museum, the Boat Barn containing exhibits and information on the island's seafaring past, a gift shop, and other shanties used for exhibits. Each of these spaces lends itself to representing a different chapter of Isle Madame's history, allowing young visitors to move through time as they explore the grounds.
