Nicholas Denys Days Scavenger Hunt

Tuesday, July 28, 2026 · 10:30 a.m.

St. Peter's Village Commission hosts an annual village-wide scavenger hunt with prizes.

The Nicholas Denys Days Village Scavenger Hunt is one of the signature community activities within the larger Nicolas Denys Days festival, an annual week-long summer celebration held in St. Peter's, in Richmond County on Cape Breton Island. Nicolas Denys Days is an annual festival that aims to provide visitors with an authentic Cape Breton Island experience, scheduled during the first week of August each year. The week's events are hosted by various organizations to ensure the whole community benefits and participates actively, giving visitors an opportunity to get to know the community across multiple days. The Village Scavenger Hunt is hosted by the St. Peter's Village Commission as a village-wide activity woven into the broader festival calendar. Prizes are awarded to participants, the event runs weather permitting, and it is free to enter, with participants registering at the Village Kiosk in front of the Post Office. The hunt takes teams or individuals out into the streets and landmarks of the village itself, making the layout and character of St. Peter's part of the experience rather than a backdrop to it. St.
