Hungryman's Breakfast – D'Escousse

Sunday, November 8, 2026 · 4:00 a.m.

Community breakfast serving local food from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. in D'Escousse.

The Hungryman's Breakfast is a long-running monthly community breakfast held at the D'Escousse Civic Improvement Society Hall, located at 3276 Highway 320 in D'Escousse on Isle Madame, in Richmond County. It takes place on the second Sunday of each month, running from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The November 8 edition falls on one of those regular monthly dates, making it a consistent fixture in the community's social calendar rather than a one-off event. D'Escousse has an active social community centred around its community hall, which is managed by the D'Escousse Civic Improvement Society. As the largest hall in the area, it serves as a hub for social activity for the whole of Isle Madame and the surrounding area. The Hungryman's Breakfast is among the most dependable recurring events the hall hosts throughout the year. The breakfast is held at the D'Escousse Civic Improvement Centre and offers a wide variety of food, including sausages, ham, bologna, beans, pancakes, eggs, corncake, tea, coffee, juices, and fruit cocktail. The spread reflects a traditional Nova Scotia community breakfast — generous, informal, and centred on bringing people together around a shared table.
