Clown School - Kids Day at Isle Madame Historical Society
The Isle Madame Historical Society (IMHS) is the umbrella organization that manages the LeNoir Landing site, which includes the LeNoir Forge Museum and the Isle Madame Community Archives. Isle Madame is located at the southernmost tip of Cape Breton Island , in Richmond County, and the organization draws both local families and summer visitors to its seasonal programming throughout the warmer months. Clown School is one of the IMHS's recurring Kids Day events — a themed, hands-on afternoon designed to give children an engaging reason to visit the museum. Clown School is geared toward children roughly ages 8 to 12, with activity centres set up so participants can learn the basics of face painting, card tricks, juggling, mime artistry, and creating costumes. All sessions begin with a warm-up activity connected to the theme, then move through a craft and several games to keep participants active, with activities rotating roughly every 20 minutes. Facilitators remain flexible — if some children want more time to finish an art project, the group can split, with those who are done heading outside for a game while others complete their work.
