The East Coast Music Association (ECMA) 2026 festival comes to Sydney, Cape Breton from May 20–24, uniting artists, industry professionals, and fans for five days of live showcases, award celebrations, and East Coast energy across venues throughout the city. Sacred Heart Downtown — a beautifully restored 19th-century former church in downtown Sydney — serves as one of the festival's premier venues, its grand ballroom offering a spectacular setting for live music and entertainment. The ECMA has been a celebrated springboard for iconic Atlantic Canadian artists including Natalie MacMaster, The Rankin Family, Rita MacNeil, and Great Big Sea.
