Mairi Rankin & Friends
Born in Mabou, Mairi Rankin is a fiddler and step dancer shaped by Cape Breton's finest traditional musicians. She draws on her Cape Breton heritage and Scottish roots from North Uist, touring nationally and internationally as a performer and educator, and appearing as a member of the celebrated Cape Breton group Beòlach and the acclaimed band The Outside Track. She has recorded a solo album, multiple albums with Beòlach and The Outside Track, and a duo album with cellist Eric Wright.
