Free ranger-led walks, talks and beach programs.

Parks Canada interpreters offer guided hikes, geology talks, evening campfire programs and family beach activities throughout summer at Chéticamp, Ingonish and Broad Cove campgrounds.

What to expect

Free with park admission. Programs run 30-90 minutes; some require sign-up at the visitor centre, most are drop-in. Family-friendly.

Highlights

The night-sky program at Broad Cove (Cape Breton has remarkable dark skies). Coastal geology walk on Chéticamp's western shore.

Plan ahead

Grab the daily What's On flyer at either visitor centre. Bring layers, water, headlamps for evening events.

Why go

The interpreters are excellent and free — the cheapest, deepest education on the park you can get.
