
Glenora Distillery Tours & Tastings
Daily tours and tastings at North America's first single malt distillery.
Guided tours of Glenora Distillery in Glenville include the still house, warehouse and a tasting flight of Glen Breton single malt whiskies. Live fiddle music daily in the Washback Pub at lunch.
What to expect
45-minute tours run hourly. Small groups, friendly guides, working distillery (you'll smell the wash). Pub lunch is hearty Cape Breton fare — chowder, fish cakes, oatcakes.
Highlights
The rare-cask tasting is worth the upcharge. The MacLellan's Brook waterfall behind the property is a 5-minute walk. Fiddlers at lunch are real, not piped in.
Plan ahead
No reservation needed for standard tours; book ahead for premium tastings. The on-site inn is the obvious overnight; otherwise stay in Mabou (15 min) or Inverness (25 min).
Why go
North America's first single malt distillery, in the most Scottish corner of an already Scottish island. The setting alone earns the drive.
