An 18th-century Christmas feast and tour.

Costumed interpreters welcome guests to the King's Bastion for a candle-lit reveillon-style French colonial Christmas dinner with period music, dancing and storytelling. Reservation only.

What to expect

Multi-course 18th-century French menu by candlelight in a stone-walled hall. Music on period instruments, occasional dancing, atmospheric throughout.

Highlights

Mulled wine on arrival. The pâté and tourtière courses. The walk back through snow-lit ramparts.

Plan ahead

Books out months ahead — reserve via Parks Canada. Dress warmly with sturdy shoes (cobblestones). Stay at Cranberry Cove Inn for the full experience.

Why go

There is no other dinner like this in Canada — a national historic site reopened just for you in deep winter.
