CaperCon 2026 — Day 1 (Friday, May 29)

Friday, May 29, 2026 · 9:00 p.m. · Centre 200

Cape Breton's annual sci-fi, fantasy, anime, gaming, and cosplay convention at Centre 200 in Sydney. Panels, tournaments, vendors, and special guest Susan Roman.

CaperCon is Cape Breton's annual pop culture convention, held every May at Centre 200 in downtown Sydney. The three-day event brings together fans of sci-fi, fantasy, anime, comics, gaming, and cosplay for panels, workshops, vendor exhibits, and gaming tournaments.

Programming spans discussions with authors, voice actors, and comic book artists; tabletop, board, and video game tournaments; collectible card game side events; and a cosplay contest that runs all weekend. Vendor booths fill the main floor with local artists, comic dealers, anime importers, and merchandise.

CaperCon 2026 runs Friday May 29 through Sunday May 31. Gaming hours are Friday 3-9pm, Saturday 10am-8pm, and Sunday 10am-4pm. Special guest Susan Roman — beloved as the voice of Sailor Jupiter in the classic Sailor Moon series, with credits across Care Bears, The Raccoons, and Thomas & the Magic Railroad — appears across the weekend for panels and signings.

Tickets are available at Centre 200 or online. Single-day passes and full-weekend passes are sold; cosplay attendees should check the on-site costume policy. The venue at 481 George Street has parking, accessible entrances, and a concession.
