Sitting just over the Canso Causeway as you arrive on Cape Breton, this provincial visitor centre is the de-facto starting point for most road trips. Staff are knowledgeable about the entire island, not just the Strait area.

What's available

Free printed maps (the official Cape Breton Doers & Dreamers guide is here, plus the Cabot Trail map), accommodation booking assistance, clean restrooms, vending machines, and travel brochures from across the province. There is a large parking lot suitable for RVs and tour buses.

Hours

Open daily April through December, generally 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with extended summer hours. Closed January through March.
