Cape Breton Sea Coast Adventures
Zodiac whale watching out of Chéticamp, fast and close to the action along the Acadian shore. The smaller boats get you into spots the bigger tour vessels can't reach, with pilot whales, minkes, and the occasional fin whale on the menu.
What to expect
- Open Zodiac inflatable, life jackets and ocean-spray suits provided
- Roughly two hours on the water at a brisk pace
- A guide narrating sightings and seabird identifications
- Spray, wind, and an exhilarating ride along the cliffs
Don't miss
- The cliffs of the Cape Breton Highlands from the water
- Pilot whale pods, common July through August
- Bald eagles working the shoreline
Good to know
- Not for those with back issues — it's a bouncy ride
- Dress in layers; the wind cuts on the water
- Operates roughly mid-June through mid-October
- Minimum age usually applies; check before booking
Pair it with
- A meat pie from Aucoin Bakery before you board
- The Skyline Trail in the afternoon
- A live show at the Doryman Pub on Saturday afternoon
