Avis operates from the same airport terminal counter as Budget at Sydney Airport. The shared operation means real-time availability is more flexible than the two brands appear separately online — staff can usually move you between fleets if your originally-booked class is unavailable on arrival.
Most Avis customers picking up at YQY are flying in from Halifax or Toronto and heading directly onto the Cabot Trail. Ask about winter tires if you are visiting October through April; they are not always installed by default but are useful on the Trail past Ingonish.
