Where to eat your Cape Breton lobster

By Todd Chant · April 25, 2026

Lobster season runs May to mid-July, but you'll find lobster on a menu somewhere on the island year-round. Six spots, six different vibes.

  • Baddeck Lobster Suppers — the classic family-style supper. Whole lobster, all-you-can-eat chowder.
  • The Rusty Anchor, Pleasant Bay — best lobster roll on the trail, eaten on the patio.
  • The Clucking Hen, Indian Brook — bakery + roadside lobster rolls. Don't skip the cinnamon buns.
  • Flavor on the Water, Sydney — the special-occasion seafood tower for two.
  • The Bras d'Or Lakes Inn, St. Peter's — full lobster dinner, lake view, quieter end of the island.
  • Lobster sandwich from a co-op pier — the Inverness Co-op or the Glace Bay one. Pick up one fresh, eat it on the rocks.
